Suchef first opened in July near St Paul’s in London and is an entirely new eating experience in the UK. The menu created by Bernhard Engelhardt with input from nutritional therapist Charlotte Watts uses contemporary, sous-vide cooking technique which seals in flavour without damaging the nutritional element of the food.
Healthier and tastier
The sous-vide method, which sees meat, fish and veg vacuum packed, before being cooked to perfection in a low temperature controlled water bath, results in not only healthier but also tastier meals – perfect for those wanting to enjoy flavoursome food fast, without piling on the pounds. With the average price of meals costing between £6 and £9, the financial pounds don’t suffer either!
Simple to order
When it comes to the menu, the Suchef principle is deliciously simple. Choose a sous-vide cooked main item, be it succulent skinless chicken breast or plaice and salmon roulade, then pick a scrumptious side along with a wholesome vegetable and flavour-packed sauce. Sides include freshly cooked egg pasta and brown rice or for those on more of health kick, there’s mixed quinoa. Sauces like mango and chilli salsa or spicy tomato, add extra depths of flavour to make lunchtimes much more interesting.
For leaf lovers there’s a selection of fresh and zingy salads to tuck into, think smoked salmon with fresh herbs, traditional chicken or goat’s cheese – all available with secondary options like new potatoes for added sustenance as well as gourmet dressings for drizzling. Seasonal, freshly-made soups served with artisanal bread are a healthy yet filling lunch option whilst Suchef’s freshly made smoothies provide a nourishing treat for those on the go.
Own-branded teas
Suchef will also offer high quality, own-branded teas which have been cultivated in a small tea plantation in Sri Lanka. Using only handpicked buds, the result is a fine tea of the highest quality. Distinctive and delicious blends include Quince, Full Moon, Monsoon, Mountain Flower as well as more recognisable favourites like Earl Grey and Peppermint. The teas will also be available to purchase by the tin for those that want to enjoy them in the comfort of their own home.
Modern, comfortable seating areas with ambient lighting, chic take-away packaging and delivery services coming up later this year, means that Suchef caters for everyone whether they have five minutes for lunch or an hour.
Having opened their first location in St Paul’s just over a month ago, Suchef is delighted to announce the official opening of their second site on Cowcross Street, Farringdon. New additions to the eatery include a small outdoor seating area and an impressive feature wall made of exposed white brick.
