Pierre Hermé to open in Seven DialsShaftesbury PLC has announced that Pierre Hermé (below) is to open its new London boutique in Seven Dials with a 596 sq ft standalone store at 38 Monmouth Street.  Providing a truly Parisian gourmet experience, the boutique will include Pierre Hermé signature offering of Macarons & Chocolats and will open this November.  The new boutique is the first of its kind in Seven Dials and is just one of a handful of exclusive brands available.

Heir to four generations of Alsatian bakery and pastry-making tradition, Pierre Hermé began his career at the age of 14 as an apprentice to Gaston Lenôtre, next rising to Head Chef Pâtissier at Fauchon, before founding his eponymous brand in 1997 with business partner Charles Znaty.  Pierre Hermé has revolutionised pastry-making with regard to taste and modernity and invented a unique world of tastes, sensations and pleasures that continues to seduce and surprise gourmet fans around the world.  Now present across 11 countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, Pierre Hermé Paris has over 45 boutiques, with several more additions planned by early 2015.

Pierre Hermé joins a growing number of French brands to make their London home in Seven Dials.  Mon Plaisir, one of London’s oldest French restaurants, is on Monmouth Street, as well as Caudalie, the beauty brand from Bordeaux.  Seven Dials also hosts La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels and Le Coq Sportif’s only standalone store in the UK.  In addition, Loft Design By…, the Parisian fashion brand, selected Seven Dials for its UK flagship store which opened in August this year.
