Domino’s Pizza celebrated the opening of its 2000th European store on Thursday 15 August at the landmark site on Kier Park, Maylands Avenue in Hemel Hempstead.
Representatives from Domino’s Pizza Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA), staff from the UK head office, including the CEO, Lance Batchelor, and the franchisee and store team will be celebrating in style with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11am. The store will be decorated to promote the special occasion and Councillor Brian Ayling (the Mayor’s representative) will be joining the Domino’s team at 1pm to cut a celebratory cake.
The picture above shows the ribbon cutting ceremony, with Danny Domino, company mascot; Ana Piera, EMEA Regional Marketing Consultant; Lance Batchelor, CEO, Domino’s Pizza; Eric Anderson, Vice President for Domino’s EMEA; Arshad Yasin, franchisee; Muj Yasin, franchisee; and Sunshine, corporate charity mascot.
Domino’s ran lots of promotions in line with the event, including a double happy hour from Midday until 2pm, where customers could purchase a two topping personal pizza for just £1. Also, there were two opportunities to ‘win pizza for a year’. As well as this, the first 50 customers to arrive at the store, between the hours of 10am and Midday, received a FREE personal pizza.
Domino’s Pizza’s corporate charity, Rays of Sunshine, was also involved in the day’s events, bringing along some of the ‘wish’ children and their families so they learned how to make pizza.
