Drivers visiting the Welcome Break service station at South Mimms can now enjoy an invigorating rest from their journey thanks to the launch of a premium food court which is home to an extended range of delicious food and drink courtesy of Tossed, Harry Ramsden’s, and the 10th Subway to open at a Welcome Break.
Following the success of Welcome Break’s Birchanger Green site, South Mimms, which is off Junction 23 of the M25 in Hertfordshire, was officially opened to the public on Tuesday 2 December by Welcome Break CEO Rod McKie, local Conservative MP, James Clappison and the Mayor of Hertsmere, Cllr Carey Keates.
The refurbishment represents circa £1,000,000 investment by the company which has a total of 27 motorway services areas around the UK, and is the third Welcome Break site in the UK to be re-launched with the brand’s new format. There are plans to refresh further sites in the Welcome Break estate over the coming year.
Supremely comfortable surroundings
As well as benefiting from an extended range of food and drink, customers at South Mimms can also enjoy an even more entertaining rest from the road in supremely comfortable surroundings which now feature a large, multi-screen video wall, soft seating and booth seats, along with free Wi-Fi charging sockets to keep all phones, tablets and laptops fully topped up.
Cllr Carey Keates commented: “It’s brilliant to see the revamp and the amount of space customers can use; good light, great seating, lots of parking, and right next to the A1 and M25. I wish Welcome Break well!”
Offering something to everyone
Rod McKie, CEO of Welcome Break added: “South Mimms represents a new chapter in the Welcome Break story, and provides customers with even more of the warm, comfortable and rewarding experience that we’re known for. Our customers told us that they wanted a wider selection of good food, including premium brands and wider choices to meet different nutritional needs. The brands on offer at Welcome Break really offer something to everyone, and the new environment provides the ideal place in which to enjoy them.”
