The Sunday Times reports that the Gaucho steak restaurant chain is for sale.
Bankers at Canaccord Genuity have been hired to work on the sale, with private equity firm ICG and Dutch entrepreneur Zeev Godik looking for a price up to £150m.
With deals aplenty in recent times – Prezzo, Pizza Express, Ask, Zizzi, Byron and just recently Coco di Mama – it’s no surprise that more are on the way. Just last week, BC Partners agreed to acquire the Cote restaurant chain for a price believed to be in the region of £250 million.
City A.M. quotes sources as saying that Gaucho is most likely to be sold to a private equity buyer, with sister brand CAU (“Carne Argentina Unica”) adding to the appeal for suitors.
