One of 2013’s most talked about new restaurants – Café Football – finally opened its doors on 12 December to the public at Westfield Stratford City.
Former teammates Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs officially opened their new 140 cover restaurant, on The Street, Westfield Stratford City, London, with hints to football culture running throughout the menu and décor.
Food
The menu itself was created by two Michelin star chef Michael Wignall in collaboration with Café Football’s executive chef Brendan Fyldes.
Each dish on the menu has its own nod to football. Football fans and foodies alike are able to enjoy a menu whose signature dishes include The Café Football Burger, a twist on the traditional ‘Pot Noodle’, and a Sausage Roll which will both surprise and delight.
Those with a sweet tooth can take their pick from sweets and treats at The Corner Shop, which will also serve Café Football’s own bespoke ice cream. Guests can choose from a mouthwatering menu including the Half Time Orange, Pistachio Turf and a Melting Chocolate Football.
Cocktails
Signature cocktails have been designed by Café Football’s expert mixologist. Inspired by football, they aim to score points with lovers of the beautiful game and include delights such as the Red Devil – a nod to Gary and Ryan’s football careers.
Décor
The interior of the restaurant has been designed to create a relaxed yet fun atmosphere with multiple screens displaying moments of how football brings people together from around the world.
Outside seating offers the perfect setting for al fresco dining, which is made possible in all seasons thanks to the offer of cosy blankets for all guests, as well as outdoor heaters.
