Succeeding a hotly anticipated opening in July this year, Galvin at The Athenaeum has been awarded two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence.
The news comes after the iconic five star London hotel announced a partnership with Michelin-starred chefs The Galvin Brothers. No strangers to industry accolades themselves, the brothers worked with the hotel to create an inimitable all day dining offering which provides the focal point for The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences’ multi-million pound refurbishment.
Since opening, The Galvin Brothers have been ever present at the hotel, working closely with Head Chef William Baker and his team to achieve the prestigious status. Well received by both hotel guests and London diners, Galvin at The Athenaeum represents a ‘first ever’ partnership for the brothers, who are now at the culinary helm throughout the hotel – from breakfast through to dinner, Afternoon Tea, Private Dining and 24/7 In Room Dining.
Known for their impeccable seasonally driven and market leading gastronomy, Galvin at The Athenaeum blends a menu of well-known Galvin classics alongside new dishes created especially for The Athenaeum Hotel, using British producers’ home grown harvests.
Acclaimed starters on the new autumn menu include Galvin smoked salmon and steak tartare, alongside new creations of poached native lobster salad, Soused Cornish Herrings with marinated Ratte potatoes & pickled cucumber and Cornish fish soup with rouille, Gruyère & croutons.
Stand out main dishes incorporate haunch of Denham Estate venison with blackberries & celeriac, Yellow Fin Tuna burger with white cabbage slaw & avocado and ‘Jubilee’ lamb curry with mango chutney, raita, papadum’s and basmati rice. Desserts complete the seasonal menu, with milk chocolate Jivara baba, dark chocolate Guanaja & Rum and Floating Island with vanilla & blackberries.
