YO! Sushi, the leading Japanese restaurant group, has its eyes firmly set on the capital in 2014 as it prepares to take London by storm with the launch of five new London area restaurants.
The new openings come after a decade long expansion outside London with key sites now established in Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow totalling 67 in the UK and 11 restaurants internationally.
London is a global hub of new flavours and restaurant concepts and has changed drastically since YO! Sushi first opened its doors on Poland Street back in 1997. Like London, YO! Sushi continues to reinvent its image, service and menu. The restaurant now offers over 80 hot and cold Japanese inspired dishes and introduced 12 brand new dishes to its menu earlier this year.
The new London sites
The capital continues to provide YO! Sushi with incredible opportunities as witnessed by the group’s recent moves in acquiring new sites launching this summer in Baker Street, High Street Kensington, Richmond, Kingston and Heathrow T2. All the locations have been handpicked for their prime locations garnering high footfall. The new restaurant at Baker Street tube station, for instance, will benefit from 27 million people passing through the station each year.
Vanessa Hall, COO of YO! Sushi said: “YO! Sushi opened its doors in London’s Soho for the first time in 1997 and with over 17 years’ experience of bringing sushi to the masses we’re excited to increase our offering in the hustle and bustle of one of the most competitive dining markets on the planet. London presents YO! Sushi with a wealth of opportunities, as there is huge demand for our unique, fun and casual kaiten dining experience. With 30 out of 76 UK restaurants inside the M25, YO! Sushi is really setting the pace as it continues to evolve alongside the capital city.”
Recently voted the UK’s most trusted restaurant brand following a report from the Human Era Index, YO! Sushi’s feet are firmly back under London dinner tables. The restaurant group plans to open a further five restaurants across the country, creating 250 new jobs. The new openings at the 10 new sites will be filled through a combination of internal promotions and by attracting the very best managers and chefs to a career at YO! Sushi.
