Corney & Barrow Bars, the group of sophisticated London City bars, has carried out a substantial refurbishment to its Old Broad Street site, as part of an on-going investment programme across its estate.
The Old Broad Street site has been transformed by Nelson Design, bringing it in line with current design trends and making use of vibrant colours and patterns. Materials such as flame stitch grass paper in colours of mint, navy blue, peach and gold, have been used to create a vibrant yet luxurious ambiance complemented by quilted velvets and aged leathers on seating. To add interest and variety, the dining space has a choice of both low and high level seating options.
Behind the bar, internally illuminated full height Italian designed wine fridges have been incorporated to create a focal point, whilst the bar front is clad in rough-hewn timber at a quirky angle to add texture and interest for customers. A private snug has been created, as well as a separate lounge area with leather sofas and slipper chairs, for an intimate, relaxed atmosphere.
Back of house, the kitchen has been opened to create a sense of theatre and to showcase the expertise of the chefs and the freshly prepared produce on offer to customers.
On-going investment to support premium positioning
Ed Gardner, Managing Director, Corney & Barrow Bars Limited, comments: “We are committed to significant, on-going investment in our estate in order to maintain and build on our premium positioning in the City market. The major refurbishment of Old Broad Street, alongside recent smaller refurbishments at Canary Wharf and Paternoster Square are just the first phase in a series of planned projects across the business.
“Old Broad Street is part of the evolution of the all day/night concept, so will be open from 7.30am-11.00pm. We are delighted that early feedback from our customers on Old Broad Street’s innovative, quirky and fresh new look has been particularly positive.”
