Fred’s Food Construction deli-diner launches in Tesco

Launching on 31 March, Fred’s Food Construction is a New York style deli-diner, inspired by the iconic photo of workers on the rooftops of the Rockefeller Center in 1930’s Manhattan. The new food concept has been developed by a successful London-based entrepreneur and leading independent restaurant expert. The pair have received support from Tesco and will be opening their first deli-diner at the Tesco Extra store in Osterley.

Daniel Gestetner and Paul Goodale

Fred’s Food Construction builds on the combined experience of Daniel Gestetner and Paul Goodale. Founder of global frozen yoghurt brand Yoomoo and an investor in Zoggs swimwear brand, Daniel Gestetner brings over 20 years consumer brand experience to the partnership. Paul Goodale’s previous positions include Harrods’ Restaurant Director where he brought the renowned American chef Thomas Keller to London in 2011.

Subs you can trust

Fred’s will serve subs you can trust: an affordable, high-quality everyday luxury, inspired by sandwiches found on the East Coast USA to cater for time conscious office workers. This includes a signature selection of grilled, roast and cured meats, “French Dipped” in a homemade jus and piled high on a freshly baked warm roll, or in a salad or carb-free lettuce wrap.

Paul Goodale comments:

“Fred’s is inspired by the rich heritage and classic recipes of the American all-day deli.  It will offer hungry workers and shoppers great food and service within a contemporary environment.”

Tesco support for innovative food concepts

Following recent investment in Giraffe and Harris & Hoole coffee shops, Tesco continues to support food, drink and hospitality entrepreneurs with innovative food concepts.
