Savills, on behalf of the joint LPA receivers AB Hughes and JP Smith of Alder King, has sold The Tregea Hotel in Padstow, Cornwall to chef Paul Ainsworth and his wife Emma, who own the Michelin-starred Restaurant Paul Ainsworth at Number 6. The freehold property was offered with vacant possession at a guide price in excess of £650,000.
The Grade II listed building, believed to date back to the mid 18th century, is situated in the heart of the famous fishing town of Padstow and totals 3,527 sq ft (328 sq m). On the ground floor there is a dining room, open plan drawing room with cocktail bar, office, reception and commercial kitchen. Eight en-suite letting rooms are located over the upper two floors. Many original period features are retained in the property, including exposed stone walls, casement windows, fireplaces and timber floors.
