Delicious Dining, the South’s largest independently owned hospitality group, has appointed Chris Rock as head chef for its new Southampton restaurant – Tapas Barcelona.
Chris, the first key hire by the group for the £1million venture, will be playing an instrumental role in developing the offering in the run up to its August opening.
“It’s a busy time,” said Chris. “We are researching the menu and have made trips to some of the best tapas restaurants in Spain; sourcing the best ingredients from home and abroad, planning the kitchen fit out, restaurant design and recruiting the 30 staff that will be needed.”
Chris, who rejoins the group from the White Horse Hotel in Romsey, will be delivering a genuine Spanish food experience created without fuss but with an abundance of flavour and authenticity for the 100 cover restaurant.
With a noted background in fine dining, Chris’ culinary passion lies in producing wholesome dishes true to their origin.
Commenting o his appointment Chris said, “Making great food is what drives me. My passion is for wholesome, vibrant food full of flavours and colours. With some fantastic dishes planned for the menu I’m determined to make people feel like they have had a genuine tapas experience when they have dined with us.”
