Opening on 1 June 2016, The Ivy Café, set in the heart of Wimbledon Village in the space previously occupied by Barclays Bank, will offer a local, friendly and neighbourly environment, with accessible all-day dining for those living, working and shopping in the area.
With approximately 120 covers, making up the main ground floor restaurant, an intimate garden dining terrace, and a private dining room, The Ivy Café will feature an all-day café-style menu offering breakfast, elevenses, lunch, light snacks, cream tea, cocktails, weekend brunch and dinner, ensuring there is something on offer for all occasions. Expect dishes such as The Ivy Café’s shepherd’s pie – slow-braised lamb shoulder with beef and Keen’s Cheddar potato mash; chicken.
liver parfait – caramalised hazelnut, cherry and Szechuan pepper compote, toasted ciabatta; and lobster risotto with fennel, lemon and tomato. The menu will also feature a selection of unique cocktails, including some classics served with a twist created by The Ivy Collection’s executive bar manager, Jeremy Evans. Top tipples from the menu include ‘The Ivy Café Royale’ – hibiscus gin, sloe infusion, rose water, Crémant and ‘London Spritz’ – earl grey gin, lemon and orange oleo sacchurum, Cocchi Americano, Prosecco, soda.
The critically-acclaimed Martin Brudnizki Design Studio has consulted on the restaurant’s interiors, as with its sister site The Ivy Café – Marylebone, whose features will include an antique pewter bar, pendant lighting, marble floor tiles, and a mixture of caramel-coloured leather banquettes and burnt orange leather bar stools, creating a stylish yet casual environment for all-day dining. For those seeking a spot of al fresco dining, there will be a beautiful garden terrace, hidden away at the back of the restaurant on the ground floor, providing a place of calm away from the hustle of busy Wimbledon Village.
The Private Dining Room, located above the main restaurant on the first floor, will seat up to 20 guests and offer a range of menus created specially by The Ivy Collection’s executive chef, Sean Burbidge. Providing the ideal setting for private events, the room can be hired for a morning breakfast meeting, working lunch, drinks and canapé reception or celebratory dinner.
Adding to the charm of leafy Wimbledon Village, The Ivy Café will be intimate and relaxed, holding back a proportion of tables for walk-ins, allowing locals to drop in throughout the day at their leisure, 7 days a week.
The Ivy Café – Wimbledon Village, is the latest venue from The Ivy Collection; a group of restaurants, brasseries and cafés established in London, offering accessible, all-day dining for locals and visitors alike.
