Opening on 22 June 2016, The Ivy Café, set in the heart of London’s exclusive St John’s Wood in the space previously occupied by Megan’s Café Grill & Bar on the high street, will offer a local, friendly and neighbourly environment with accessible, all-day dining, for those living, working and shopping in the area.
The Ivy Café will be approximately 100 covers including the Parisian-style, street-tables which will truly bring the café to life on the bustling St John’s Wood high street. The restaurant will open daily from 8am and feature an all-day café- style menu offering breakfast, elevenses, lunch, light snacks, cream tea, cocktails, weekend brunch and dinner, ensuring there is something on offer for all occasions. Expect dishes such as tuna carpaccio – crushed avocado, jalapeṅo, coriander and lime dressing with shaved radish; chicken Milanese – brioche crumbed chicken Milanese with fried hen’s egg and black truffle; and roasted butternut squash – with grains, salad of buckwheat, chickpea, pumpkin seeds and pomegranate, with crumbled feta, harrisa, yoghurt and coriander dressing.
The menu will also feature a selection of unique cocktails, created by The Ivy Collection’s Executive Bar Manager, Jeremy Evans, including some classics served with a twist. Top tipples include ‘Garden of the Abbey’ – Elderflower vodka, cucumber apple, lime, cider sparkle and the ‘Negroni tasting set’ – white, classic and boulevardier.
The critically-acclaimed Martin Brudnizki Design Studio has consulted on the restaurant’s interiors, as with its sister sites The Ivy Café – Marylebone, and The Ivy Café – Wimbledon Village (opening on 1 June 2016), whose features will include an antique pewter bar, pendant lighting, marble floor tiles, leather banquettes and vintage leather bar stools, creating a stylish yet casual environment.
The Ivy Café – St John’s Wood, will be accessible and relaxed, holding back a proportion of tables for walk-ins, allowing locals to drop in throughout the day at their leisure, 7 days a week. The Ivy Café will add to the sophistication and charm of the already fashionable St John’s Wood and is an exciting addition to this quaint and sophisticated North London neighbourhood.
