Brew Tap Burger to launch in Mercato Metropolitano

This October, Brew Tap Burger will launch a three-month pop-up at the newly opened Mercato Metropolitano in Borough, with Prosecco flowing by the tap and a pick of founder Rohit’s favourite burgers, with flavours inspired by his travels. Brew Tap Burger will also feature some of Britain and Italy’s best loved beers and, for a taste of la dolce vita, a monthly rotating menu of bellinis that will keep you in the know on ways to enjoy Aperitivo hour. On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th October there will be 50% off bellinis and burgers before the pop-up officially opens on Tuesday 11th October.

Made with 35-day dry-aged beef from the Ayrshire coast of Scotland, Brew Tap’s small but perfectly formed offering of burgers will include the ‘Sweet Miso’, topped with red onion jam infused with fennel and sweet miso, and the ‘Chilli Smoke’ which will come with a tomato chutney laced with smoky red chilli. No line-up would be complete without a classic cheeseburger, and Brew Tap’s version will be served with American cheese, smoked ketchup and paprika mayo with the option to double up on beef patties or to add rare breed streaky bacon. Skin on House Fries will come with a chilli umami salt.

Celebrating some of Italy’s finest exports, the residency will have Prosecco Frizzante from the hills of Vicenza on tap, as well as Birra del Borgo Cortigana, an Italian amber ale made by one of the country’s leading craft breweries in Borgorose.  The best of British will be represented by Harvistoun Schiehallion, an award winning Scottish pilsner, and Hiver Honey beer hailing from South East London. Hiver work with urban beekeepers and only use British ingredients and raw, urban honeys to create a deep golden serve with a rich citrus flavour. As well as classic White Peach Bellinis, Brew Tap will also be serving monthly Bellini specials.

‘Mercato offers a wonderful combination of Italian produce alongside Street Food shacks with food from around the world – I’m excited to be part of their London launch. For Brew Tap Burger we’re using simple quality ingredients combined with of some of my favourite classic and more experimental flavours. We’ve sourced great craft beers that work really well with our food and for aperitivo it had to be Prosecco and bellinis!’ says founder, Rohit Chugh.

Brew Tap Burger will be hosting monthly beer pairing events at Mercato Metropolitano, giving guests the chance to discover the brains behind the bottles.
