The Kitty Hawk opens its doors on Thursday 17th November, part of a multi-million pound development at River Plate House in South Place London and the first venture from the Wright & Bell group. Introducing a brand new ‘Department Store of Dining’ concept to the capital, The Kitty Hawk will cater to all of the needs of the city’s food lovers, day and night and all under one roof. Departments include a bar and kitchen area for all day drinking and dining from 7am to midnight, an elegant grill restaurant, cocktail bar, private dining room and a speciality coffee bar & patisserie, that will evolve at night into an intimate wine bar for private hire. Each area offers a different experience, all featuring stunning interiors brought to life by the renowned designer Russell Sage and celebrating provenance and discovery with artisanal spirits, award-winning meats, locally roasted fair trade coffee and more.

The Kitty Hawk has been curated with a meticulous attention to detail that spans every aspect and will be a much needed all-day haven for the city.

The striking interior takes inspiration from the City of London’s vibrant heritage and New York city glamour and is designed by the critically-acclaimed Russell Sage (Dishoom, The Grain Store). The result is a wonderful mix of exposed timber and concrete, blackened steel, copper, marble and beautifully hand-stitched leather seating for a versatile yet stunning setting that captures the imagination of its guests.

The Kitty Hawk is a space for any occasion, encapsulating the ‘Department Store of Dining’ concept and encouraging discovery. It will act as an extension of the workplace perfect for mobile working and after work drinks with colleagues, whilst also providing the ideal spot for relaxed gatherings of friends and family with the option of champagne brunches, long lunches, evening lite bites or craft ale and hand-crafted flatbreads next to an open-kitchen. Downstairs a luxurious restaurant will deliver a more refined dining experience with cosy private dining areas for those business meeting and special occasions.

The coffee bar & patisserie will serve breakfasts and lunches to eat in or on the go, while also perfect for get-togethers over artisan coffee and freshly-baked cakes and pastries made in house. By night, the space will transforms into a wine bar for private hire and more intimate drinking.

The food and drink across The Kitty Hawk will be testament to Wright & Bell’s commitment to provenance and offers something for everyone. The sumptuous cocktails will all be made from artisanal spirits behind the bar, the wine menu will be curated especially for each of the areas by Rothschild and Milton Sandford, delicious flatbreads will be freshly made in the fire dome oven in front of diners overlooking the kitchen and award-winning meats will be sourced from British butchers.

The Kitty Hawk is the first project from the Wright & Bell group.

Jayne Baker, The Kitty Hawk’s Managing Director comments, “Wright & Bell is influenced by the great inventors of our past, Sir Alexander Graham Bell and the Wright Brothers, who dared to dream, and taught the world to fly. We are the creators and architects of “The Department Stores of Dining”, bringing together a dynamic mix of drinking, dining, working and retail experiences. Following The Kitty Hawk, we plan to develop six venues across the City of London and West End, to bring a new elegance to the London Market.”

The Kitty Hawk is available for private events and is able to cater to nearby offices. Expert planners are on hand to help curate private events and Christmas bookings.
