Simpsons restaurant in Edgbaston has promoted Natasha Shorthouse to the position of restaurant manager.
Natasha has worked at Simpsons for more than two years. Prior to joining she spent four and a half years working in top London restaurants including over two years as head waitress in Restaurant Gordon Ramsey in Claridges and two years at Launceston Place where she was promoted to assistant restaurant manager.
Natasha grew up in Birmingham and studied at University College Birmingham where she graduated from the then College of Food. During this time she worked as a waitress at Andersons in Birmingham’s Jewellery quarter.
Whilst at Launceston Place, Natasha decided it was time to return to Birmingham’s burgeoning food scene and she was soon recruited by Simpsons’ owner, Andreas Antona to the role of assistant manager.
Andreas Antona says, “Natasha is a natural in the restaurant as she genuinely wants our guests to have the best experience possible in her care. Over the past two years she has grown in confidence and commands well deserved respect from the rest of her team – making her the ideal candidate for our restaurant manager.”
On joining Simpsons, Natasha says, “I enjoyed my first ever Michelin starred meal at Simpsons at the age of 18 and I remember so much about it that I knew immediately that it was where I wanted to work. It feels very much like a family here. Andreas and Luke [Tipping] really care about their staff members and invest in them.”
She adds, “Every day is different at Simpsons, making it exciting as you never know what challenges may arise. Our guests are so varied which also keeps me and the front of house team on our toes.”
