Award-winning restaurant chain TGI Fridays has launch a brand new menu – devised by leading UK food development chef Terry McDowell – is packed with exciting flavours which are bold, big, and a little bit different.
To start with, the famous Fridays ribs have been given a shake-up. In addition to tender, slow-marinated baby back ribs, Fridays has, for the first time, introduced cola-glazed Beef Short Ribs. And for those who want an even meatier challenge, Fridays has launched its largest-ever steak – the mighty 30oz Tomahawk rib-eye. It really is a man versus steak challenge.
Fans of Fridays signature Jack Daniel’s glaze have lots to get excited about – the popular range is expanding significantly with the introduction of Jack Daniel’s Crispy Duck Fajitas and now vegetarians can get in on the action with the inclusion of Jack Daniel’s Sesame Mushroom Strips – Friday’s first ever vegetarian Jack Daniel’s dish.
The innovation doesn’t stop there. The Pulled Pork Sundae is an appetiser with a difference – served in a glass usually reserved for desserts, it features BBQ pulled pork, bacon and melted cheese between layers of mashed potato. And for a flavour which has a real sting in the tail, the Scorpion Chicken Sandwich is so hot it comes with a warning on the menu!
And of course, Fridays hasn’t forgotten its trademark burgers. The 14oz Warrior burger is joined by The Chief – a towering, hand-crafted stack featuring a 7oz burger, chargrilled chicken breast coated in Scorpion Hot Sauce, bacon, jalapeños, cheese and chili mayo. And if that doesn’t pack enough of a punch for you, the Green Chili Cheeseburger certainly will – featuring chargrilled hot chilies, jalapeños and even chili mayo.
Terry McDowell, TGI Fridays’ Head Chef said: “Fridays food is all about dishes with big personality, and the new menu couldn’t reflect this more for our guests. I took inspiration from food from right across the globe, as well as exploring sweet, hot and smoky trends, bringing the best flavour sensations I could find back to Fridays to include on the new menu to really wow guests that come through our doors. We can’t wait for the British public to come on down and get their hands on our new food, and see the reactions once people try it!”
Some highlights from the new TGI Fridays menu:
Beef Short ribs
The ultimate sticky and succulent meat treat, these mighty ribs are glazed in Cola, smoked and slow-cooked until ultra-tender. Served with crispy fries and apple slaw, they’re not to be missed.
The Tomahawk
A 30oz Rib eye steak, matured for extra tenderness and flavour, served with fries, onion rings, flat mushroom, and a choice of steak sauce. Are you ready for the challenge of the one and only Tomahawk? Only the brave take can take this one on. And only the fearless succeed.
The Chief Burger
Are you ready to meet your burger match? Look no further! This is a 7oz chargrilled burger, piled high with chicken breast, crispy bacon, Scorpion Hot Sauce, chilies, jalapeños, cheese, onion, tomato and chili mayo, served in a glazed brioche bun with crispy fries and topped off with a scotch bonnet chili. You’re playing with fire when you order this guy.
Pulled Pork Sundae
Yup, it’s an appetizer – not a dessert – so make this the first thing you order. A sundae glass filled with BBQ pulled pork, bacon and melted cheese between layers of mashed potato, topped with Texan toothpicks. Ideal for those looking to try something a little different, packed full of timeless flavours.
Scorpion Chicken Sandwich
A sandwich with serious bite – will you heed the warning signs on the menu? Grilled chicken coated in spicy Scorpion Hot Sauce and topped with chili, bacon, cheese, tomato and red onion, served in glazed brioche bun with crispy fries or house salad on the side. You won’t forget this encounter in a hurry…
