Jason Atherton and The Social Company are delighted to announce that flagship restaurant Pollen Street Social has been awarded five AA rosettes and Sosharu has been named London Restaurant of the Year at the AA Hospitality Awards 2016 on Monday 26th September.
In April 2011 Jason Atherton launched his flagship restaurant, Pollen Street Social, in Mayfair. The restaurant, which seats 60, celebrates produce from across the British Isles and houses London’s first stand-alone dessert bar. The restaurant previously held 4 AA Rosettes since 2013, and has received a number of accolades including one Michelin star, retained since 2011.
Sosharu, Jason Atherton’s Japanese izakaya-style restaurant, which opened in March 2016, is a collaboration between Jason Atherton and Executive Head Chef Alex Craciun, who has worked within The Social Company for four years. In preparation for the launch, Craciun relocated to Japan on a research trip, spending the year studying at the Kyoto Culinary School, bringing his culinary experience and expertise of Japanese cuisine to Sosharu.
Atherton comments about the results, “Being awarded five AA rosettes for Pollen Street Social as well as Sosharu winning restaurant of the year is an incredible accomplishment. I am so proud of all my teams who work to exceptional standards at every service, across all our restaurants and feel this really is a testament to all of our hard work.”
